Willingen. When we look back, Hollywood couldn't have stage- managed it better. Ricci and the team of IchWillSchnee.net did not have a good feeling when they arrived 10 days ago at the Ramada Hotel Willingen (H+ Willingen) As a welcome present it did rain very much and there was almost no snow... 10 degrees and the ski slopes of Willingen were only brown and green ...
Of course the snow at the skilifts would have been enough for skiing in small areas, but the links between the pists wouldn' t have worked any more. And by the way, it didn't look very good and skiing in the rain is not so much fun.
But then everything came different...
While it was raining in the afternoon, Ricci did not belive her eyes when she looked out of the window in the evening: Snow was falling!
At the next morning Willingen was white over and over again with 15 cm of new snow. „ So: Let's go skiing!“ Willingen turned into a Winterwonderland and in the following 24 hours 25 cm of new snow was falling. That's why Ricci could discover the ski resort in the Sauerland with the highest station in the mountains under best conditions.
„It is really beautiful in Willingen! The ski resort is big. There are pists, with up to 240 meters difference, for everyone, no matter if you are a starter oder a professional. I would say, it's worth to visit Willingen for skiing!“, said the munich girl after her stay.
The lifts in Willingen have a difference in their hight with up to 240 meters.
The only small cabin lift and the longest piste in the whole Sauerland you can find at the mountain „Ettelsberg“. Many of the 16 lifts are lighted up in the evening three times a week. 26 Euro are the costs for a whole day of skiing and this is, comparing it with the prices of the alps, more than cheap.
