Happy Easter to you all!
We are all celebrating it. Easter.
But why is a rabbit hiding eggs and why are the eggs painted?
The rabbit.
The rabbit is controversial, why it is this animal. Maybe it is a protestant tradition which enforced in 18th century especially in urban regions. But nobody is sure about it.
The eggs.
During the fasting period people were not allowed to eat eggs. So they cooked them to make them durable and painted them, so they could differentiate between the cooked eggs and the new raw eggs and pitch and enjoy the cooked eggs riskless after fasting period.
And , by the way , in many religions the egg is a symbol for new life or rebirth, and that's what we are celebrating on Easter: Christus' rebirth.
In consideration of the current circumstances in the word Easter is maybe not as solemny as it should be. I am talking about the assassinations, last one: Brüssel.
We are all thinking of the victims of every assassination, no matter where on earth. We are all speechless.
The Team of IchWillMehr and me hope, you have a great and peaceful holiday anyway.
We wish you much fun with the egg- hunting!
Enjoy :)
Sincerely Yours, Ricci
